A LAKESIDE MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT IN SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK - WALES

Elopements | I know I’m biased but I don’t think you can beat them. All weddings are unique and beautiful; all weddings are meaningful and days to be treasured, especially now, but for me, elopements will always hold a special place in my heart.

Jessica & Stu were beyond epic on their elopement day. They braved all the elements including the cold depths of Llyn Idwal! They were incredible and I feel so very lucky to have had the opportunity to capture just a fraction of their spirit and love for one another. 

As many of you will know, photographing wild landscapes is a real passion of mine. I really am at my most happy while travelling and hiking with my husband Rich. Camera in hand with a cheeky packet of red vines to fuel us along our trail. So capturing a couple so in love, amongst such natural beauty was a real dream come true. It combined both my worlds and I loved every second of it!

The freedom eloping allows a couple is unreal! I’m not just talking about the sense of adventure marrying in a wild location provides. I mean that they can have a day that is entirely about them; no fuss, no stress, no drama, no blown budget! Every detail can have meaning, every choice can be part of their story. They can have a whole day where there are no time constraints, no checklists. They can simply focus on one another and soak up every moment together. That connection is priceless. 

If you’re a couple who are undecided about whether to elope or not - as a bride who did it and as a wedding photographer - I can’t emphasise enough how much you will love it and should 100% go for it! You can still have the dream dress, the florals, the epic suit, the beautiful vows… It doesn’t even have to be just the two of you. You can have a select few of your nearest and dearest there too.  You can do it however you want and that’s the beauty of it.
