BEAUTIFUL OCTOBER WEDDING AT FOLKINGTON MANOR, SUSSEX // SARAH & JAMES
One of the most wonderful and special things about being a wedding photographer, is the welcome you are given by a family. A clan takes you, a stranger, in for a day and slowly lets down their guard. Giving you privileged access to their family history, relationships, private jokes and very personal moments. This is something I always think about on a wedding day. How lucky I am to be there amongst these people on such a huge day for their family.
If you feel comfortable doing so, it’s important to share your families’ stories with your photographer. This helps us gain context and understand better the images we should capture for you. We’ll better know what images might be important and become treasured by you.
Sarah & James’ wedding day was full of joy, meaning and quiet reflectance. Sarah's father had sadly passed away some years before. On their wedding morning she gifted to James her father’s pocket watch. That object become so full of meaning. I love a particular image from their gallery, captured by Rich. It’s the moment James’ own father, who is registered blind, held that watch, using his hands to admire the beautiful gift his soon to be daughter-in-law had given his son. Below are a selection of images from their dreamy October wedding at Folkington Manor.
